Please do not buy tickets this way!

Today, I will talk about the most difficult thing to prepare for your trip, the ticket purchase. Some of the most expensive ticket purchases make up half of your travel arrangements. I often ask how many people get "cheap airline tickets"

Is there an unconditional way to find cheap airline tickets? No, there is no such way. If you know how to do it, you can easily get rich, but there is definitely no such way. So today's story will be "Please do not buy tickets this way!"

 1. Not to do Cross-Check Ticket search site

 2. To make unconditional payment on a search site that is a little cheaper

 3. Not to search low-cost airline (LCC) not validated by SkyScanner

4. Not to check the transfer time and the number of airports in the city.

You just have to avoid the above four things.

Skyscanner.com
Kayak.com
momondo.com
cheapflights.com
trip.com

etc..

There are a lot of search sites selling tickets. Which is the best place? If you ask "It depends" I say. Usually a new ticket searcher is the cheapest but not always.

The reason is that airlines split the seats into many grades to diversify their prices because they lose their profits immediately when the seats are left. Lower-class seats offer less mileage, can not be changed, can not be canceled, and are cheaper. Higher grades are more free, but prices are higher.

But most low-cost airlines do not have a business seat and do not have the concept of mileage. The price range is divided by the presence of the usual service or ticket change option.

The most recommended method is, After checking the approximate price with the Sky Scanner, check the LCC price, which is not searchable by SkyScanner, and check the ticket. After checking the cheapest ticket, visit the airline's homepage and check the same ticket.

The reason for checking the airline homepage is the same time, even if the same airplane economy ticket is different.

If you buy directly from an airline, you can purchase a ticket with a higher rating than the search site, usually with a higher percentage of mileage accruals, easier cancellation or change of airline tickets, and a higher rating. It goes up.

Our "lazy people" rarely purchase tickets a few months ago in advance, and often go out to foreign countries in 1-2 weeks. What should I do in this case? The necessary concept here is "hub airport".

The hub airport or base airport is the airport that is the center of the area. For example, many people go to certain airports when people or cargo go to Europe, and if it is a major transit hub, it can be called a hub airport. This can be the center of human movement and logistics. In other words, it refers to the airports that individual airlines use as their base.

In the Southeast Asian region, Bangkok is close to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Muang Airport (DMK). In the Middle East and Dubai, Dubai (DXB), Sharjah (SHJ), Europe, London Heathrow (LHR), Gatweak (LGW) and Luton (LTN).

To sum up, the prices for Hub Airport flights do not change significantly unless they are high season. And it is cheaper than other airports because there are many flights. If I need to book a few days in advance of your trip, I normally first check for a ticket to Hub Airport and then check the ticket at a low-cost airline or a nearby airport at a reasonable transit time in the same airport.

The point is, "It's more expensive than buying a few months ago, but you can avoid expensive prices as crazy."

In fact, I will try to demonstrate as described above. For example, let's say I want to go to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I have taken a vacation from 22 February to 1 March and will try to find my ticket now.

I searched through skyscanner.com for Incheon (ICN)> Chiang Mai (CNX), From 22 Feb to 1 Mar. Direct costs about 1,100,000 KRW(1,000 USD) and One stop costs only 750,000 KRW(690 USD) The latter is cheaper but takes 9 to 20 hours. I'll look for another way.

Look for hub airport between Incheon and Chiang Mai. Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok are the largest hubs.

I searched for Shanghai and Bangkok flights but it was so expensive that I searched Hong Kong. Hong Kong Express (ICN)> Hong Kong (HKG) roundtrip flight for $ 230. It's good price. Incheon 22 Feb 04:55 ~ Hong Kong 22 Feb 08:10 and Hong Kong 1 Mar 09:45 ~ Incheon 1 Mar 15:00 (3 times a day)

Hong Kong to Hong Kong> Round trip to Chiang Mai (via Bangkok). There are other tickets, but the most attractive way is via Hong Kong. I will keep my bag at the airport and take a rest and go to Chiang Mai at dawn.
